Tribal ethnic style necklace has a 14 strand bib of Red Coral heishi. Necklace features antique Tibetan carved Agate Dzi (pronounced "Zee") beads accented with large vintage resin Coral nuggets, ivory Bone Crackle Stone, and Seabed Fossil gemstones.
Dzi beads originated in ancient India between 2000 and 1000 BC. The beautiful, carved beads were brought back in great numbers by Tibetan soldiers from Persia or ancient Tajikistan during raids. The base stone is Agate. Artisans then added lines and shapes using ancient methods that are still not completely understood. The smoothness and absence of cracks in the Agate indicates the heating and bleaching processes took place at a high altitude.
