Necklace features two large top-drilled turquoise Howlite teardrops front and center and clusters of genuine Turquoise semi-round gemstones. There are nearly 100 freshwater pearls: two large white (16mm) baroque coin pearls, white baroque stick pearls, clusters of white oval rice pearls and white button pearls around the neck. Additional clusters of white Mother of Pearl rice and aqua & seafoam Czech glass teardrops complete the scheme. Clear cosmic-cut and fancy-cut crystals add a touch of flash.
On a trip to Venice I was captivated by a display of jewelry in a store right off St. Mark’s Square. The designer had grouped glass beads, pearls and gemstones into clusters or "bouquets" that resembled floral arrangements (or in some cases, bowls of fruit). This is my interpretation of the "Venetian Style" design.
